Crohn's disease is a particular type of IBD or Inflammatory Bowel Disease. IBD occurs when the immune system causes damage of the gastrointestinal tract through chronic inflammation. Often confused with IBS, Celiac Sprue and ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease is thought to be an auto-immune condition.
