Janet graduated with her degree in Nursing from the University of British Columbia in 1983. She worked as a medical-surgical nurse in hospitals in Vancouver and Toronto until she finished her MBA at Queen's in 1989. Her graduation from Queen's University marked a career shift into banking. Janet was employed in various positions by Toronto Dominion Bank until her departure in 2002 when she embarked upon her studies in naturopathic medicine.

Janet completed her graduate studies in naturopathic medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine with the successful conclusion of her internship year in the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and Sherbourne Health Centre in 2007.  During the 4 year program at CCNM, Janet developed a keen interest in nutrition and orthomolecular medicine, which is the therapeutic use of substances that are natural to the body such as vitamins and minerals.

Janet is licensed by the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy in Ontario and is a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

Known for a quiet, calm manner infused with an off-beat sense of humour, Janet has her practice located in the Family Chiropractic Centre at 136 Young Street in Hamilton, Ontario.
