Christy is a passionate community health promoter. She has a sociology background with over 5 years’ experience in community services (health promotion, adult & women’s education). Christy started to focus on health issues after her father died of cancer 15 years ago and then began a journey of self-discovery in personal & community wellness. With her passion to share health knowledge and life-changing experiences with the community, she turned her personal interests to professional career development, and has committed herself to being a holistic community health promoter. In 2005 she graduated from Centennial College with an honours post-graduate diploma in Workplace Wellness & Health Promotion and she is currently pursuing accreditation as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) and Registered Nutrition Consultant Professional (RNCP). Christy has been volunteering with the community for many years as a speaker for the Canadian Diabetes Association, through delivering health-related presentations in various cancer support groups, and within her religious community. She is also a health columnist and spokesperson for Chinese media on behalf of Omega Alpha as a bilingual Education Consultant for retail stores and special events.
